Nonprofits Ask the Obama Administration to Do More for Children’s Mental Health

According to U.S. News and World Reports, the National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine have asked President Barack Obama to create a new agency or commission to oversee and coordinate programs to prevent mental, emotional and behavioral disorders in young people. Their report calls for a federally developed 10-year plan that would lead to better coordination and adequate funding of exisiting agencies for the purpose of promoting and treating children’s mental health issues. Read the story here.
